Why are motorcycles considered hard to notice on the road?

Motorcycles are often difficult to notice on the road primarily because they are smaller than most other vehicles. Their reduced size can make it challenging for drivers of larger vehicles to see them, especially in busy traffic or when vehicles are changing lanes. This size difference means that motorcycles can easily be in a driver's blind spot, and their narrower profile may make them less noticeable compared to larger cars, trucks, or SUVs.

Furthermore, while some might think that slower speeds could make motorcycles more conspicuous, many motorcycles can actually accelerate quickly and may be traveling at similar speeds to surrounding traffic. It’s also worth noting that motorcycles are required to have headlights, and they usually do ride in the right lane unless they are passing.
